I, Frank Bruno, have been training for 45 years and I’ve never met a more amazing generous kind beautiful person as Kai. People say when you get old, you’re past it. But since I met Kai I feel 25 and I’m going to do exhibitions in boxing around the country to raise money for the Frank Bruno Foundation. Following an accident which left me in a lot of pain a friend recommended I saw Kai and I am glad she did. I saw him for a year and in that time my back and ankle became more flexible and the pain reduced. He regularly kept in touch between our sessions to check on progress. A year ago I attended a “Gentle Exercise” class at Waterside Gym. I had never been to a Gym before and was quite apprehensive- I needn’t have been.
The friendliness of the staff and the gentle atmosphere was apparent as soon as I walked through the door and was given my first cup of coffee.
After a couple of weeks in the group I asked whether Kai would do some individual sessions with me – I honestly think that was one of the best things I could ever have done for myself.
I have COPD ( stage 3), Asthma and Carpel Tunnel in both wrists and at the time I hadn’t been able to exercise at all for 12 weeks after  complications from minor surgery so I was not at my peak!
Kai has been brilliant with me, the sessions are varied and very much geared to what I can do that week – even if it means Kai has to throw away the  planned session and wing it  – I really have felt that it is all about me !
My confidence is higher and my anxiety around physical tasks is lower, my breathing itself is better, but more importantly for me my ability to control my breathing is vastly improved which has made a huge difference to me.

Kai is an intuitive and innovative trainer.  He has always tailored our sessions according to how my body functions on the day and what will be motivating and fun.  His enthusiasm for fitness, overall health, and body function is infectious, and I find his approach very motivating.  I’ve learnt much about how my body works and how to support its optimal function through movement and strength work approaches, which I hadn’t considered before.  Kai knows that to encourage longevity in fitness and health, it is essential to enjoy the process and see improvements as I go, and he always comes from this perspective, building on my strengths and encouraging me along the way.  I would highly recommend giving a session with Kai a go.
